A free Habitify alternative with unlimited habits
Habitify's free plan tracks 3 habits. Crek is a free Habitify alternative with unlimited habits, streaks, and a to-do list — in any browser, no subscription.
Updated
Habitify is one of the best-looking habit trackers around, and a lot of people start there. Then they add a fourth habit and meet the paywall: the free plan tracks three. If you like Habitify but don't want a subscription just to track a handful of habits, this page is for you.
Why people look for a Habitify alternative
Almost always, it's one of these:
- The three-habit limit. Three is enough to try the app, but most people want to track more than that — water, a walk, reading, bedtime, and so on.
- Paying for the basics. Premium is reasonable ($2.49 a month billed annually, or $59.99 once for lifetime), but the thing it unlocks first is simply more habits, which many trackers give away.
- More app than they need. Timers, mood tracking, health sync, challenges and automations are great if you use them. If you only want to tick off a day, they're extra screens.
What Habitify does well
Habitify is a good app, and it's fair to say so.
- It's polished. A clean, calendar-first layout that shows your day at a glance.
- It's everywhere. iPhone, Android, Mac, Apple Watch and a web app, with sync between them even on the free plan.
- It connects to things. Apple Health and Google Fit, calendar integration, and Zapier and IFTTT on Premium.
- It does more than tick-offs. A built-in timer, notes for reflection, mood tracking and challenges with friends.
- Reminders. Premium includes advanced reminders — if you rely on a nudge at a set time, that matters.
If you use those features, Premium is money well spent. If you mostly want unlimited habits and a streak for each, you can get that free.

Crek as a Habitify alternative
Crek is a free habit tracker that runs in your browser. It does less than Habitify, on purpose, and none of it is behind a paywall.
- Unlimited habits, free. There's no paid tier, so there's nothing to upgrade to.
- A streak for every habit. Each habit has its current and best streak, a completion rate and a calendar of every day you've done it.
- Rest days don't break streaks. A habit can repeat every day, on the weekdays you choose, or once a month, and its streak only counts the days it was due.
- Fill in the days you forgot. Did it but didn't tick it? Tap the day on the calendar, up to a year back.
- Your to-do list and notes, beside your habits. One place for the things you do once and the things you do every day.
- Try it before you sign up. The tracker at /habit-tracker works straight away, with habits saved in your browser. Sign in with Google when you want them on your phone and laptop — what you tracked comes with you.
Where Habitify is ahead: reminders (Crek doesn't have them yet), native apps and a watch app, health integrations, timers and mood tracking. If any of those are why you use Habitify, Crek won't replace them.
Other alternatives worth a look
- Loop Habit Tracker — free, open source and ad-free, with reminders and widgets. It's Android only, but if that's your phone, it's hard to beat. More on it in Loop alternatives.
- A printable tracker — a monthly sheet on the fridge has no habit limit and no subscription. Make one with the printable habit tracker.
- A spreadsheet — the free Google Sheets and Excel template counts days done per habit, and you can change anything.
How to switch from Habitify
Crek can't import from Habitify, so you'll add your habits again. It takes a few minutes.
- List your habits and their days. A daily habit, a Monday–Wednesday–Friday habit, a monthly one — Crek handles all three.
- Add them to Crek. Try them at /habit-tracker first if you like, then sign in to get weekday and monthly schedules and to keep them on every device.
- Carry your streak over, if it matters to you. Tap past days on each habit's calendar to mark them done — up to a year back.
- Cancel Habitify Premium once you're happy, if you had it.
Starting over is also a good chance to cut the list down. How to build a habit that actually sticks explains why fewer, smaller habits usually last longer.
