A Streaks alternative for Android and every other device
Streaks is iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch only. Crek is a free Streaks alternative that runs in any browser — Android, Windows, iPhone — with unlimited habits.
Updated
Streaks is one of the best habit trackers on the iPhone. It won an Apple Design Award, it's a one-time purchase, and it ties into Apple Health so a lot of your habits tick themselves off. The catch is in the name of the platforms it runs on: all of them are Apple's. If you've switched to Android, share habits across a Windows laptop, or just want to try something before you pay, you need something else.
Why people look for a Streaks alternative
- There's no Android version. Streaks runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro. "Streaks app for Android" is a common search, and the honest answer is that it doesn't exist.
- Moving between devices. An iPhone at home and a Windows PC at work, or a partner on Android, means Streaks only covers part of your day.
- The 24-task limit. Streaks tracks up to 24 tasks. That's plenty for most people, but not all.
- No way to try it first. It's a paid download with no free tier or trial, so you buy before you see whether it suits you.
What Streaks does well
- Design. It's genuinely lovely to use, and the Apple Design Award is well deserved.
- Apple Health. Steps, running distance, heart rate and more can complete habits automatically, so you don't have to tick them by hand.
- Apple Watch. Complications and widgets let you check off a habit from your wrist.
- Flexible schedules. Daily habits, a number of times a week, or specific days.
- Pay once. $5.99 on the US App Store, no subscription, no upsell.
If you're all-in on Apple and like the automatic Health tracking, Streaks is an easy recommendation. The rest of this page is for everyone else.

Crek as a Streaks alternative
Crek is a free habit tracker that runs in your browser, so the same habits and streaks follow you from an Android phone to an iPad to a work laptop.
- Works on every device. iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac, Chromebook — if it has a browser, it runs Crek. There's nothing to install; you can add it to your home screen from the browser.
- Free, with unlimited habits. No purchase, no subscription, no 24-habit ceiling.
- Streaks that respect your schedule. A habit can repeat every day, on the weekdays you pick, or once a month, and its streak only counts the days it was due — so a rest day never breaks it.
- Fill in days you forgot. Tap a past day on the habit's calendar to mark it, up to a year back.
- Each habit's numbers. Current and best streak, completion rate, and a calendar of every day done.
- A to-do list and notes beside your habits, so everything you mean to do is in one place.
- Try it with no account. The tracker at /habit-tracker works straight away and keeps your habits in the browser. Sign in with Google when you want them on more than one device.
What you give up: Apple Health habits that complete themselves, the Apple Watch app, and reminders (Crek doesn't have them yet). Every habit in Crek is ticked by hand.
Other alternatives worth a look
- Loop Habit Tracker — if you're on Android and want a native app, Loop is free, open source, ad-free, works offline and has reminders and home-screen widgets. It's Android only. See Loop alternatives.
- A printable tracker — the original way to keep a streak: a printable habit tracker and a pen, on any device you like, because it isn't one.
How to switch from Streaks
There's no import from Streaks, so you'll set your habits up again.
- Write down your tasks and their days from Streaks before you switch phones.
- Add them to Crek — try them first at /habit-tracker, then sign in to use weekday schedules and to sync across devices.
- Bring your streak with you. Tap each past day on a habit's calendar to mark it done, up to a year back. For long streaks, it's often enough to fill in the last few weeks.
- Health-based habits become manual ones. "Walk 10,000 steps" still works — you just tick it yourself when your step count gets there.
